Kentish Town Sports Centre

|

We were appointed via OJEU competition in the autumn of 2004 to establish the viability and feasibility of restoring and updating the existing Grade II Listed Sports Centre at Kentish Town, thereafter to take this dramatic refurbishment forward to completion.

The brief was to provide additional high quality and affordable sports and leisure facilities fit for the 21st Century and contribute significantly to the long term social, health and economic regeneration of the area. The Centre provides two Swimming Pools (25m and 33m), Learner Pool, major Health and Fitness and the provision of enabling residential development consisting of 4 contemporary new town houses and 10 apartments.

The work has involved major specialist surveying, establishment of the condition and specification of the repair and replacement of the important Victorian brick and terracotta façades, slate roofs and leadwork.
The design process involved detailed liaison and approvals through Planning, English Heritage, The Victorian Society, Camden Conservation and the local community.
