Heritage, Conservation, Refurbishment and Regeneration
Our involvement in Heritage, Conservation, Refurbishment, and Regeneration occurs across all sectors of our work. Whilst the historic value of a building or an area is a key driver, we have also completed many conversions, refurbishments, alterations and extensions to existing buildings that do not have any particular historic value, but have an economic value. Often imaginative solutions can transform tired existing buildings and significantly increase their value and life. It can have planning and programming advantages and be operationally and environmentally sustainable.
Roberts Limbrick has longstanding experience and specialist skills in the restoration of listed and historic buildings and working in Conservation Areas. We undertake reports and assessments, negotiate with planning and statutory bodies to obtain all necessary consent and approvals, and take projects through tender and construction to completion.
In the countryside, policies to encourage farm and estate diversification as a means of finding sustainable new uses for redundant buildings have led to a number of commissions. Recent work includes adaptive re-use projects for estates seeking to conserve and redevelop historic farm buildings as rural workspace, equestrian facilities, eco-housing, and tourism accommodation.
