GEMS Wantage Primary Academy

Wantage, Oxfordshire

Kingsgrove’s new primary school in Wantage opened its doors to its first students in September 2020. The school will accommodate 420 primary students and 26 nursery places. Pupils will benefit from new sports pitches, a large playground, and a multi-use games area (MUGA).

Set in 2.2 hectares of grounds, the contemporary school features modern facilities and the thoughtful use of glass, timber, red brick and pitched roofs.

Oxfordshire County Council appointed GEMS Learning Trust, a not-for-profit educational charity, to operate the new school. Barnwood Construction completed the school on schedule despite interruptions due to Covid-19.
