Commissioned by Wrexham County Borough Council to develop proposals for regenerating the historic town centre core.
A 3-stage action plan was put forward in unison with Wrexham’s current development framework. This included a policy and masterplan review and spearhead proposal to refurbish the existing historic markets. During this process, a physical appraisal was conducted on the large vacant Henblas shopping mall and surrounding streetscape, with subsequent proposals for a mixed-user development of the site, gateway improvements and public realm analysis.
The final stage encompassed aligning the physical town centre assets with a place-making and rebranding consultation. This identified key marketing strategies, product offer and identity markers to establish a new food centric experience and inject renewed life into the vibrant town centre.
