Who are we?

Designed for life

Roberts Limbrick was founded in 2008 with the merging of Roberts Gardner Ltd and Limbrick Limited, two established architectural practices each bringing their own wealth of knowledge.

Our practice has steadily grown since, and we are now a team of over 100 talented and ambitious creatives with offices in Gloucester, Newport and London.

We create spaces at the heart of communities. Our architects understand how people interact with places, and they use this knowledge to make a positive impact in every design.

Our approach is solution-led and collaborative from start to finish. It’s only through truly understanding your needs that we can offer effective solutions. Each project is unique, but joined in the common aims of improving lives, connecting communities, and enhancing our environment.

By combining capability with creativity, we produce eye-catching designs that maintain the balance between form and function.

Our story

We offer a full range of architectural services as well as interior design, urban design, landscape architecture, masterplanning, consultancy and 3D modelling. We work with a variety of sectors, including healthcare, education, commercial, sport and leisure, community, residential and mixed-use.

With over 25 years of experience and a varied portfolio of successful projects, we can work together to design spaces that work for you.

“I have worked with Roberts Limbrick on a number of challenging, but ultimately rewarding projects in Cheltenham over a number of years. All of these projects have been delivered to time and budget, which is testimony to the positive relations they develop with clients, contractors, professional advisers and the statutory authorities. I would not hesitate to recommend Roberts Limbrick.”

Jeremy Williamson, Managing Director,
Cheltenham Development Task Force

“I cannot praise Roberts Limbrick enough. They have provided creativity, whilst always being aware of the practicalities. I am very happy to recommend Roberts Limbrick to anyone”

Our approach

Whether you require us to lead or take a supporting role, our team of architects and designers can help you to deliver your next project.

Aspirational and caring

We seek to deliver buildings that inspire and enable people and enhance their quality of life. To achieve this, we build strong working relationships with our clients, the development team and our staff.

Creative and collaborative

Designing and delivering excellent buildings requires dedication and teamwork. This approach needs to run through the whole of the development process.

We employ and collaborate with the most talented people at all stages of the design and construction process.

Committed and grounded

Great ideas need to be deliverable. Our team of talented designers and technologists remain connected throughout the design and development process, always listening to your needs. Initial concepts are informed by commercial and technical realities and guide the project through to completion.

Carbon Reduction Plan

We worked closely with Go Climate Positive to understand our environmental impact and to create a carbon reduction plan. Our plan was made with a 33.6% emissions reduction every 5 years to stay on track with the science-based target to keep global warming below a 1.5-degree increase.

Go Climate Positive Profile here.

Accreditations

To date we have been involved with many buildings which have strong environmental credentials. These include buildings that have BREEAM ‘Outstanding’, ‘Excellent’, and 'Very Good' ratings. Our own offices were designed to achieve BREEAM ‘Excellent’.

We are externally audited and accredited to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO45001:2018.

Holistic design

We believe that good environmental design can improve user experience, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and generally improve buildings so they work well for their whole life span. We consider these elements as a holistic part of the design process and work with specialists to ensure that our buildings are well designed and comfortable.

Our team includes architects with Passivhaus expertise, a standard for increasing building comfort while reducing running costs. We are proud to include a number of zero-carbon buildings in our portfolio.

Net zero commitment

Roberts Limbrick is committed to achieving carbon net zero by 2050.

There are now over 8,000 B Corps worldwide and the UK B Corp community is one of the largest and fastest growing.

We saw this and decided we wanted to be part of this ever-growing global community, and in 2023 we started our B Corp application.
